Ever needed to display a simply URL in a Powerpoint Slideshow? Or wanted to produce a QR Code poster/packaging. SplashURL produces a tiny URL which reduces the chance of web addresses being spelt incorrectly.

Ever needed to convert an *.flv file into an *.mp3 or *.wma? This website converts most types of movies, video and sound files alike from a range of sources including local files on your desktop... ...to URL addresses.

In addition you can also send a range of file formats to your mobile phone. Simply upload the file from your PC to their site, they provide you with a URL and Code, and using your device download!

Very very useful:

QIK - Mobile Webcam!

Ever wanted to be a fly on the wall for assessment? or simply wanted to share a learning experience with colleagues via a LIVE VIDEO STREAM? With this simple application you can...

A colleague at a recent LSIS - PDA training event mentioned this effective tool which has so much potential across all curriculums. Simply sign up to http://www.qik.com with a valid email address. Next select your device. For the moment i have been using my Nokia N95 however i will be working with Keith Tellum to get the application installed on the Mantles hopefully...

Once you have and account, and the software installed on your device your almost ready to go. All you need is a WLAN connect or 3G internet connection. Obviously the better your connection the smoother the LIVE stream is, but regardless, the uploaded footage is stored and can be watched back without needing to buffer.

I am hoping to trial this tool during our trip to France if we manage to get a European data contract!
