Bearings (Navigation)

Teaching the technique of reading 'bearings' has to rank amongst one of the most mind numbing tasks on a teachers curriculum. This interactive resources 'Canoe Bearings' is the best activity by far, to spice up this subject.

With its theme based around the Olympic's learners must navigate the canoe through the gates in the quickest time possible. Entering distance travelled (in meters) and the direction of travel (in degrees) makes the canoe move accordingly.

Have a play! See what you think...
